V is for...Vanilla Extract!

This is an essential ingredient for almost all baked goods. I think I've only come across three recipes that don't use extract at all! There are so many different kinds of extracts that it's mind-blowing! Most grocery stores carry, lemon, coconut, and almond. Some carry special ones like root beer! I love Root Beer cake so this extract has to be in my kitchen!

Imitation vanilla extract has too many ingredients that shouldn't be in food. Also, pure vanilla extract gives your baked goods an amazing taste that imitation can't even come close to.

If you want to become a baker, I would recommend having a bottle of pure vanilla extract on hand at all times. Yes, it is expensive which is why...I recommend making your own bottle especially if you bake a lot.

Have you ever made your own vanilla extract? Watch the video of The Sassy Baker making her first batch and then try it yourself! Let me know how it went by emailing me at [email protected]
