H is for...Honey!

Did you know that if you eat local raw honey it can help your body fight allergies? I like honey in my tea mostly but I have used it in baking. You can substitute honey if the recipe calls for maple syrup or corn syrup. It's considered a natural sweetener so it has health benefits.

A couple of years ago, a former student gave me some of his family-made honey. It was delicious! I must have finished the whole bottle in a month!

Funny, growing up I hated honey because it reminded me of bees and I detest bees. I realize that they help the environment and they are essential to plants etc. yeah, yeah, yeah BUT every time I looked at honey (or flowers), I shivered. To this day, I still detest bees but I do enjoy honey in tea and in cakes. So...I guess I better suck it up!
